Job Description/Responsibilities:
Maintains an active role in the smoothness and efficiency of retail restaurant operations by producing and / or coordinating the production of food items needed for daily menus and special events
Consistently controls daily and weekly inventories
Maintains team awareness of inventory cost and profitability through proper use of production, build-to, and / or order sheets
Checks in with supervisor for any special preparation needed prior to starting normal kitchen duties
Carries out job duties normally associated with those of a cook, including but not limited to: Coordinating production of daily menu items using menu count and production (or build-to sheets) to help control waste
Checks inventory of all menus
Communicates supply needs for production consistently with head cook
Consistently maintains a clean and organized work area keeping in mind all health and sanitation standards to assure integrity of food products
Maintains equipment daily and reports any malfunctions to designated Associate
Maintains flow of food orders by communicating with Associates in a timely manner
Verifies all special orders with designated Associate
Maintains production of menu items throughout the day, keeping up with supply demands and making serious efforts to avoid wasted items
Closes and sanitizes work area in a timely manner according to health codes and gathers items required for next day's production
Communicates any supplies that need to be ordered to supervisor
Checks in with a supervisor before leaving
Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards to include, but not limited to: Clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes Clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks
Reports to work area dressed appropriately and prepared to work with any necessary supplies / equipment to perform job duties
Exercises integrity with scheduling
Follows established procedure for schedule and shift changes
Punches in before and out after every scheduled shift
Takes appropriate lunch breaks when applicable, punching accordingly and coordinating with key kitchen Associates
Coordinates holiday, vacation, and any time off with management while considering the needs of the restaurant
Upholds all Health and Sanitation standards as directed by Neiman Marcus, local Health Department, and 3rd party Sanitation auditors
Requirements/Responsibilties:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to work autonomously
Motivated and results-driven "Win together" mentality
Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
