Job Description/responsibilities: The Nash is a refined yet approachable dining destination in downtown Houston, recognized for its modern American cuisine and elevated hospitality. We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and shape the next chapter of The Nash’s culinary identity.
The Executive Chef will:
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, ingredient sourcing, costing, and daily execution.
Lead, train, and inspire the culinary team to deliver consistent, exceptional dining experiences.
Collaborate with ownership and front-of-house leadership on menu direction, seasonal offerings, and special events.
Manage kitchen budgets, food and labor costs, and inventory control to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations.
Recruit, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional growth.
Represent The Nash within the local culinary community, building relationships with suppliers and partners.
Job Requirements:
Graduate of Lenôtre Culinary Institute or another accredited culinary program (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in professional kitchens, including at least 2 years in a Sous Chef or Executive Chef role.
Demonstrated skill in developing innovative, seasonally inspired menus with attention to flavor, balance, and presentation.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities with a hands-on management style.
Proven track record of managing food costs, labor, and operational performance.
In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and current food trends.
Commitment to excellence, collaboration, and delivering an outstanding guest experience.
