INTERCONTINENTAL CULINARY CLASH RESULTS! ― May 2023

The IHG Hotels & Resorts Culinary Clash held in Houston, Texas was a fierce competition, where culinary arts students from the Culinary Institute LENOTRE put their skills to the test. The competition took place at the InterContinental Houston and Safina Restaurant.

After much anticipation, the winners of the InterContinental Culinary Clash have finally been announced! Caleb Edwards and Christopher Turner, both Level 4 CIL students, emerged victorious, impressing the judges with their exceptional culinary skills and creativity.

Their winning menu comprised of a delectable She-Crab and Avocado Soup for the appetizer, followed by a refreshing Mango Lobster Salad. For the entree, they served a succulent Red Snapper with creamy dijon pepper sauce, tri-color baby carrots, and Parisian potatoes. And for dessert, they delighted the judges with a Strawberry Cream Cannoli and Chocolate Bombshell, accompanied by homemade French vanilla ice cream and flambé with Grand Marnier.

The winning team was thrilled with their victory and expressed their gratitude to the hotel staff and chefs who helped them prepare for the event. Caleb Edwards said, "It was a great honor and a privilege to work alongside the hotel staff and some wonderful chefs, we learned a lot." Christopher Turner added, "A happy staff makes a good kitchen; I enjoyed working with everyone and I think everyone enjoyed working with us."

The judges were impressed with the creativity, presentation, and flavors of the winning dishes, and the competition was tough, with all teams displaying remarkable culinary skills. We are very proud of both of our CIL Culinary Clash teams, and we are excited to see what they do in the future!

The InterContinental Culinary Clash was a huge success, showcasing the talent and creativity of young culinary students. We congratulate Caleb Edwards and Christopher Turner on their victory and wish them all the best for their future culinary endeavors.
