Description:
Episcopal High School is seeking a dependable, energetic, and experienced Grill Prep Cook III / Food Service Attendant to join our team. This position is responsible for operating the grill, preparing fresh food, serving students with exceptional customer service, assisting with cashiering, and helping provide an outstanding dining experience in a fast-paced private school environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch items on the grill.
Prepare ingredients and assist with food prep, salads, sandwiches, and other kitchen duties as needed.
Serve food directly to students in a friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic manner while providing outstanding customer service.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process student and guest transactions.
Maintain an attractive, clean, and well-stocked serving line.
Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
Prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper handling of allergens.
Receive, rotate, and properly store food using FIFO procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the day.
Assist with setup, breakdown, cleaning, and closing duties.
Work efficiently as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers, students, faculty, and management.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or management.
Qualifications:
Previous grill experience is required.
Minimum of 1 year of food service or commercial kitchen experience.
Previous school food service experience is a plus.
Experience operating a POS/cash register is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention.
ServSafe Certification preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong work ethic.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Reliable transportation is required.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
Must successfully pass a background check prior to employment.
Cold Food Prep Cook III
Description:
Episcopal High School is seeking an experienced Cold Food Prep Cook III to join our scratch kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, maintaining the salad bar, and preparing made-to-order sandwiches while providing outstanding customer service to our students and staff.
Responsibilities:
Prepare fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, and other cold food items in a scratch-made kitchen.
Wash, cut, chop, and process fresh produce according to recipes and daily production needs.
Set up, stock, and maintain an attractive, fully stocked salad bar throughout meal service.
Prepare made-to-order sandwiches quickly, accurately, and with attention to presentation.
Serve students and staff with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Follow standardized recipes, portion control, and quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation.
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper prevention of cross-contamination.
Assist with catering, special events, and other kitchen duties as needed.
Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth daily operations and support fellow team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of food service experience required.
Experience in scratch cooking, cold food preparation, salad production, deli, or sandwich preparation preferred.
Previous school food service experience is a plus.
ServSafe Certification preferred.
Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic attitude.
Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the workday and safely lift, carry, push, or pull at least 40 pounds.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Successful completion of a background check is required.
