Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to the operation of a food service operation.

  • Culinary technical skills in all basic and classical food preparations, such as broiling, sautéing, grilling, poaching, roasting, braising, frying, baking, and cold preparation skills.

  • Basic pastry skills are appreciated.

  • Ability to work independently at multiple food stations with little supervision.

  • Proven success leading a time.

  • Remain flexible and adaptable.

  • Work harmoniously with other employees and develop/maintain good employee relations and employee morale.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Chef Manager to fulfill the culinary goals of the unit by facilitating the implementation of management initiatives in the kitchen and exceeding customer expectations

  • Assures highest standards of sanitation and kitchen safety (Maintaining kitchen sanitation, and safety standards, and ensuring that all work/storage areas are clean, free of hazards, and properly arranged – by the end of each shift the kitchen must be clean and functional for the next day)

  • Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.

  • Read and measure and execute recipes.

  • Commit to perfect food preparation and presentation each and every time (Maintain exceptional menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation)

  • Actively participate in all communication to ensure food is expedited quickly and efficiently.

  • Ensure your appearance is neat and professional throughout your shift.

  • Create a safe and well-organized workstation.

  • Embrace your passion for food.

  • Works with unit chefs to establish quality and service standards and to develop short- and long-term culinary training programs for the culinary team.

  • Effectively communicate with management and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees
