Whether you're viewing demonstrations, learning new dishes in a classroom or taking part in a field trip, your lab/classroom videos should leave a lasting impact on the viewers' minds.

Submission Guidelines:​

​

Originality:

  • We encourage you to submit photos and videos that are original and captured by you.

  • Plagiarism or unauthorized use of someone else's work is strictly prohibited.

​

Adhere to Health and Safety Standards:

  • Prioritize food safety and hygiene while creating your culinary content.

  • Follow proper food handling practices, maintain a clean cooking environment, and adhere to local health regulations

  • We want to ensure the well-being of both you and those who enjoy your creations.

​

Display Professionalism:

  • While we appreciate creativity and individuality, we encourage you to maintain a level of professionalism in your culinary content submissions.

  • This includes showcasing your dishes and techniques with clarity and attention to detail.

  • Present your creations in a way that highlights their aesthetic appeal and demonstrates your culinary skills.

No Profanity:

  • We value a family-friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

  • We kindly ask that you refrain from using any profanity, offensive language, or content that may be considered inappropriate or disrespectful.

  • Let's keep the focus on the artistry of your culinary creations.

Dress Code:

​

Baking/Culinary Labs Students are required to wear the school uniform in lab classes and during presentation tasting which is a part of class time. Uniforms are checked daily and are part of a student’s daily grade. Students not in full uniform and/or with insufficient hair covering will be sent home to change.

The school uniform for labs is defined as:

  • Chef jacket with school logo and tailored hounds-tooth pants. a. The jacket and pants must be cleaned and ironed.

  • A clean apron.

  • A one-day supply of clean kitchen towels.

  • A clean, adjustable chef ‘toque’. a. No hats are allowed to be worn while wearing the lab uniform.

  • Black non-skid shoes (not provided by CIL).

  • ID nametags. a. If lost, ID nametags must be replaced, and the student will have to pay a $10 replacement fee.

  • Long hair or ponytails protruding from the toque must be in a hair net. Specialty hair nets can be purchased outside of the school at the student's expense.

  • All Facial hair must be kept neat/trimmed and in a beard net.

  • No visible body piercings (nor on the tongue) of any kind.

  • No sunglasses.

  • No headphones.

  • Make the best attempt to conceal any visible body art/tattoos.

  • No large chains or ornaments hanging from the belt, pocket, etc

Academic Classrooms

The school uniform for the academic classrooms is defined as:

  • Chef jacket or the school polo shirt.

  • Magnetic ID nametags.

  • Pants/skirts/shorts must not have any holes in them.

  • No low-ride pants, wear waist-fitted pants with a belt.

  • Skirts and shorts must extend at least as far as fingertips-length on an extended arm or longer.

  • Flat, closed-toe shoes are a must unless approved by the Director of Education.

  • No visible body piercings (nor on the tongue) of any kind.

  • No hats are to be worn other than the ones with the CIL logo.

  • No sunglasses.

  • No headphones.

  • Make the best attempt to conceal any visible body art/tattoos.

  • No large chains or ornaments hanging from a belt, pocket, etc.

  • Garments should not cause disruption or detract in any way the image and educational mission of CIL.

Respect Copyright and Intellectual Property: Ensure that your content does not infringe upon any copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights of others. Only submit content that is entirely your own or for which you have obtained the necessary permissions.

How to Submit Content:

​

Format: Please submit your culinary content in a digital format that is easy for us to access and review. For photos, JPEG or PNG formats are preferred, while videos can be in commonly used formats such as MP4 or MOV.

  1. Access Our BLACKBOARD Link: To submit your content, please upload your files to our designated Dropbox folder. Click on the upload button below. You will be redirected to a secure Dropbox page where you can securely transfer your files to us.

  2. Upload Your Files: On the Dropbox upload page, you will find a "Choose Files" button or a similar option. Click on it to browse your computer or device and select the culinary content files you wish to submit. You can select multiple files at once by holding down the Ctrl/Cmd key while making your selections.

  3. Confirm Upload: After selecting your files, click the "Upload" button to begin the file transfer process. Please note that the time taken for the upload will depend on the size of your files and the speed of your internet connection. Ensure that you have a stable internet connection during the upload process.

Note: By submitting your content, you grant us permission to feature and promote it on our social media channels. Please ensure you have the necessary rights to share the content.
